Default Idle problems

Ok. i just tried and failed to install an aftermarket intake manifold. I failed to realize the need for new injection, new fuel rail, fuel reg, hondata, and the simple yet expensive tuning of the car. anyone who has tried this knows its a pain in the butt! so i had my stock intake manifold put back on. ok. now every time you start the car the rpms go right to about 3000 and hold for about 5-8 seconds, then drop to 1000 and continuiously go from 1000-2500 and repeats without stopping. i tried replacing the map sensor and that wasn't it. does anyone have or has anyone had this problem and can tell me what the heck is going on with my car? its really ok, just anoying when your at a stop light or sitting somewhere with the car running. i don't think it would be the tps sensor because this is a constant idle between two points and it would't be that constant with a tps problem. so does anyone know what the heck is goin on?

I had a friend that had a CRX with a B16 that had that problem,
And a friend with a 90 DA that did the same thing.
In the DA it was a bad idle air control valve.
And in the CRX it was a little screw in the throttle body that came lose.
I would get you more info if i still had either of their phone numbers,
But i don't sorry.
