Idle Problems
I have a 94 Integra with 203,000 miles on it. Recently it's been giving me problems. First off, it doesn't start right away sometimes. Turn the key, nothing. Turn it 4-5 times and it starts right up like nothing is wrong. No big deal, I assume it's the starter and really not too hard to fix. The real problem is that my check engine light has started to come on accompanied by an erratic idle. It'll get stuck at 1200 rpms and I can bring it back down by letting the clutch out a little. Other times it'll hover around 700 and then almost stall out like it's choking. I checked the ECU code and it's throwing a 6 which is a problem with the coolant temperature. The radiator and the reservoir are full. I had my radiator replaced 8 months ago for the second time and I'm not sure if that's related. Also, my gas mileage went from 330s to 295ish.
I'm trying to figure out what tests I can run to isolate the problem. Really, I'd like to determine the cost to fix my car so I can see if it's worth it or if I need to start looking for a new vehicle.
Any help is appreciated.
