okay here's the deal, when i'm stopped in neutral my idle is fine for a while, then it drops to about a 100--the engine rumbles a bit like its about to die on me then it goes back to normal idle....i was thinking it might be the o2 sencor, but i wanted a second opinion before i put any money into it--me being broke 'n' all

Try cleaning your throttle body with a spray (you can find it at your auto parts store). My car was exactly the same, till I sprayed out the TB......now it idles right at 800......

 

Also could be a surge from the fans kicking on. My car idles somwhere different all the time. Im gonna try the TB thing

 

u may wanna ck your distributor. tegs are known to have probs w/ their distributors during those years. a faulty distributor will set off certain sensors while dipping your rpms
