get the swap

put the pistons in your LS.. slap the head on. use the tranny

and you should have a really decent ls/v.. and if you don't know anything about ls/v do research buddy!

Or find some P30 pistons, Crower 404's, valvesprings, and your usual I, H, E, and some ACL bearings have a nice non-vtec build for less money. But you would still need a short geared tranny to have decent times.

So, if you can get a good deal on the B16 with tranny, then I agree with the post above. If you can get a good deal on the tranny alone, then building your LS wouldn't be so bad. Around 170 whp with some nice torque early in the curve, and the satisfaction of being quick with no vtec.

My husband built his b18b with all oem stuff and ran a 9 flat on the 1/8 mile track with drag radials. I think he spent about 2500 on everything that inlcudes intake, header, exhaust and all the internals on the motor.

you will push out more power than any n/a ls vtec will ever dream off with a turbo. easy hp gain and better investment than getting a b16 and strippin it for a ls vtec setup. i like the sound of vtec but i love the sound of turbo.
