Bunch of talk in this thread from people who have no idea what they are talking about...

All G3 tegs have 4 wheel disc brakes

Leather means nothing... No 95 GSR came with leather.

Slanted exhaust tip is only on the 98+ gsrs... and they are not the same as the Type R, They are smaller.

gen 3 LS integras don't have the third brake light on the rear window

gen 3 LS integras DON'T come with painted side mouldings

Unless for some strange reason USDM integras are different than CDM Tegs.. but I highly doubt any of these change... Im almost certain of that...

Only difference between USDM tegs and CDM tegs are taht CDM tegs have day running lights.

looks like you dont know wtf you are talking about-
all LS/RS/GS DO have a 3rd light in the rear window as opposed to the GSR which is in the spoiler- in the US it bacame federal law that all passenger vehicles have a 3rd brake light in 1986.-- therefore since our tegs were made after that time we all have 3rd brake lights.

THE GSR muffler tip is the exact same as the ITR but the ITR is welded on where the GSR is screwed/bolted on.-- check the part # if you dont believe me.

I have a 95 GSR that i bought as the second owner from a 45 year old doctor that owned it one year-no modifications- my car has leather-front and back- black on black to be exact, my best friend has a 94 se, with TAN LEATHER!

refer to our pictures posted frequently to see pics of ls.gs.rs integras with painted side mouldings from the factor--

in the meantime if you dont know what you are talking about leave the conversation to those who do.

stupid ppl from canadia-- hehe just kidding

imo the best ways to distinguish gsr's from any other integ
vin: jh4dc2....etc unless its a 4 door
there should be no brake light in the rear glass (gsrs come stock with brake light on factory wing)
cluster redlines at 8, goes up to 9

also gsr's came stock with leather in 99 i believe
before that it is a option for all models

Go to team-integra.net and look at the articles/FAQ. They have the differences for every make/year.

The brake light in the window helps distinguish the Integra models pretty much all the time. Everything else is kind of tough to pinpoint if they have somethings changed.

so many variances. best bet is to check the engine bay for vtec clips that are unplugged if he has put an ls in a gsr. or just check the vin.

Man.... some post.

There are all sorts of signs (already described above) to distinguish a LS chassis vs. a GSR chassis. However, if he really does have a LS chassis and LS everything, what makes you think that he hasn't done a motor swap or throw a VTEC head (if he just put a VTEC head on his stock setup, using stock LS tranny, it it isn't going to be that fast), as swaps are very common nowadays.

If you really must know, ask to see his motor. Hell, you never know and he could be hiding a NOS bottle somewhere in the car and hiding the lines underneath the car and going up from underneath the intake manifold.

u included yourself in the crack about no one knowing what they are talking about right. My 95 ls has a 3rd brake light(as well as a spoiler led), and came with factory painted side moldings. The only sure way to tell is too look at the engine. Obvious things to look at r the IM, the valve cover and the block code. From the outside however i dont think there is any sure way to tell. VIN can tell you what the car started as but not necessarily what it has now, and same thing with the 3rd brake light. It could be a salvaged GSR chassis with an LS put in it cuz its cheaper. Even the tranny you cant be 100% sure. No GSR in america came with an auto but he could have, for no fathomable(sp?) reason, got a JDM auto GSR tranny. I have no idea why neone would ever do that but it is possible. All G3 teg parts are interchangeable pretty much so he could have a GSR guage cluster and rear hatch but then have an LS engine.

summary: No for sure way to tell w/o looking at engine.

im just saying w/o looking at the engine there is no sure way to tell. There are things to look for that could tell you i.e. 3rd brake light, VIN, or guage cluster but w/o looking at the engine he wont know for sure. VIN would be the best though i would say, VIN would be the one thing you can almost count on not to have been changed.

The Integra GS that came with the spoiler didn't have the light in the glass. At least not some that I've seen.
