i hate thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I go to my car for lunch and what do i find, my steering column broken, metal shaards all over the place and an empty gep where my alpine used to be. My car is a 2000 so i guess the chip kept them from taking the car but it didn't keep them from scratching the hell out of my car. What is funny is that the police station is a block away from where my car broken into. FuC*ing aaaahhhhhhholes, wish i could have caught them messing with my car. sorry just venting

What kind of car ? was it even an integra ?? you guys need alarms
get the pimp alpine ... and get the RS door handle covers ... mine should be in any day
RS have no diler tab on the inside. Just open your handles up, and take out the silver tab. I am getting the rear door handles on a 4door soon (no key holes)

damn i feel for ya. I know exactly what u talkin bout when u say they fucked up ur steering column, cuz they did the same thing to my roomates GSR. Honestly its gonna be alot to fix, if you're getting everything replaced at the dealer anyway. My roomate had to replace the steering column and then something else as well i think something related to the srs. Cost him more than 1000 for everything to get fixed just so he could drive. Supposedly, there is a way that u can break the chip mechanism so that u can bypass that whole key/chip thing, so thats why thieves force the steering column. But sometimes are unsuccessful like in my roomates case and jsut leave u with a car u can't drive. Sucks. i hope there is a seperate more painful hell for car theives.
RS Door handle covers? please explain...
the popular way to gain access to the locked car without breaking a window .... is using a tool to depress the electronic door lock switch inside the cab .... the RS handles do not have the electronic door lock tab in it ... .
so basically ill use my car alarm to unlock the doors .... they can still break in ... but they will have to break a window to do it
My prelude was stolen and it didn't even have power locks, no broken windows either. When I got it back it looks like they stuck a screw driver right where the unit is that holds the door handle on the outside and somehow got it to unlock. The door lock was broken when I got it back so they must have beat the **** out of it. That was in broad daylight in the very first parking spot @ 1pm on a slightly rainy day at a mall, people walking by constantly. 4th gen prelude btw.
for those of u wondering my car is 2000 gsr and it got broken into a block away from the devonshire police station in northridge; i'm glad to say that it appears insurrance will cover all damages minus my radar detector
. I guess that chip deal did its wirk this time around, u can bet i won't leave my car on the street again
oh and i did have a factory alarm but they just d\c the batt to get around it

If you guys are so worried that you need the RS covers, then why don't you just wire your alarm so that the power door locks are disabled when the alarm is armed? It's probably as simple as hooking up a relay. But, why couldn't the thieves just use a "slim jim" or whatever?
they can, but it stops the coat hanger theves, haha
You'd know if it was a pro cause you'd be walking
i know how you feel...last month my 99 gsr was broken into...they stuck a thin metal bar in through the top of my window that was rolled up all the way...pried my window out a lil and used a hanger to flip my door lock switches...ripped open my steering colomn...couldnt get my car started so then they decided to try to steal the airbags....disconnected my steering wheel but couldnt get all the wires off...i guess this made them mad so they stole all my stuff (about 127 cds, the laundry i just did, radar detector, and the $40 wax i just bought) and decided to key my car....insurance fixed all this for a $100 vandalism deductable at the place of my choice but the final bill was somewhere around $3000 and i was out a car for almost 2 weeks...oh yeah this happened at 4 pm in my apartment parking lot with tons of people around.....arrrrrr
