How to verify your engine is in good working condition
Have a B18c1 w/ 45K and am looking to do some internal mods ie cams, cam gears, valves, valvesprings, retainers. But I just want to make sure my engine is in good working condition. Is there any kind of tests I can do besides DYNO or compression? Have babied the car since it was born, oil change every 3K, etc.

The best test to see if the motor is in good shape would be a compression test, and a leak down test... That'll tell you the condition of the internals... As for battery, alternator, starter, etc. there is ways you check each one...

Where can I get a compression test and leak down test done reliably for a good price? Pep boys or a local mechanic? How much do these tests run on average?
Thanks for the help.

Do it yourself bro. Go buy the kits and follow that c-speedracing link above. It's a good site with DIY tutorials.
