I just need to remove the motor mount bolts from my engine and it’s ready to be lifted but how should remove it. Do I need chains or straps to wrap around it? Also do I remove the rear motor mount first then the 2 side ones?
When I did my first engine swap over 20 years ago, I did lift it through the top with the transmission attached using an engine hoist. It was difficult and I didn't know any better at the time. You'll want to have an engine leveler on the hoist to tilt the engine enough to get the transmission out from under the transmission mount bracket welded to the frame.
The much easier method is to drop the engine out through the bottom. Again, using an engine hoist if you can get your hands on one. If you don't have access to a hoist, you could probably do it with a transmission jack or a normal car jack. Support the engine and remove the transmission first. Lower it down and drag it out from underneath. Then do the same with the engine block. You already have the head and intake manifold removed, so it ought to be fairly easy to do this way.
Just for reference, this is how I removed the engine from my Civic a week ago.
Edit - On second thought, I've seen some guys remove all 4 wheels and basically lower their car flat against the ground. They'll unbolt the engine and trans, then jack the car up and pull the engine out from underneath. That might be easier for you since it doesn't require any special jacks or a hoist.

I got it out it was a bit difficult and I lowkey f’d up my front bumper lmao but i should’ve put the straps around the transmission evenly. It was lopsided/tilted when i was lifting it out and it hit against my front bumper and bended it. But I started stomping on it and it fixed itself lmfao. Anyways I’m going to use that as a learning experience so next time I lift it back in my car it won’t be all titled and it’ll be even.
Easier method without using a cherry picker — use 2 floor jacks on each side (front) and lower the chassis with a furniture dolly underneath the motor. Remove motor/tranny mounts, raise the car up and roll out the engine
