How to remove ECT sensor on DOHC VTEC head?
I think it's a 17mm deep socket. You'll need to drain the coolant and possibly remove some other stuff that's in the way.
Edit: It might be a 19mm deep socket now that I think about it again.

I think the ECT sending unit on the head is either a 10mm or 12mm. The switch itself is a 17mm or 19mm

There's actually three coolant thermosistors that use that info for three different purposes.
The 19mm ECT sensor in the head sends voltage to the ECU, and used for cold enrichment and temperature correction maps.
The 12mm ECT gauge sending unit sends voltage to the gauge cluster.
The whatever size it is fan thermoswitch is on the thermostat housing and it used to determine when to turn on the main fan. It's more of a mechanical actuator rather than a sensor, but it's still a thermosistor.
