how much difference do tyres make to drag performance?
my integra has some dodgy old falkens that the previous owner threw on the car.
when i launch with anything above about 3200rpm, the wheels spin like a ****.
seems alot of people recommend a 4000-5000 launch... i just make two black lines on the road then.
this is a bone stock '94 GSR by the way.
off on a tangent, a friend of mine has an fto... he gets away with a 4500-5000 launch with minimal wheelspin, about what i get from 3200rpm.
could it be my launching technique thats making me so slow (which i think it is)?
or the tyres?
or does my car have a mysteriously grunty low end?
hmmmmmm
could any of you blokes please tell me how you launch on street tyres for a run??

you should slip the clutch and ride it essentially, dont apply the power too quick, that and when your fully off the clutch, you should be at a nice rpm to get you going....
tires make a difference....try some drag radials and you'll see the difference

Is your question whether a stickier compound tire will stop it from spinning and allow higher rpm launches? I think its pretty obvious.
Tires as well as launch technique make a difference. Dropping the clutch with street tires does not net the best 60 times or ETs...
