How to fit a 00-01 gsr header on a 94-99 gsr
Ok so I need some help, here’s my predicament,
i ordered a header for my 95 gsr, didn’t know there was diffrent a pipe lengths.
i was shipped a 00-01 gsr header so my a pipe is longer and doesn’t fit, I know that from my research the
a pipe is longer on the 00-01, the cat is shorter and the b-pipe is longer?
So my question is how can I get the 00-01 header to fit my 95? can I just use a itr or 00-01 gsr cat? Can I just get a test pipe or resonator to replace my cat? Please help me get this to work, I can’t find info anywhere looked at feeds everywhere and can’t find exact lengths

Are you will running the stock exhaust with the longer 94-99 b pipe?
If what I read its correct, you might just have to get a test pipe or a cat and shorten by cutting and welding it so it fits. You could also get a highflow cat and cut the testpipe so it has the cat on it.
I did the opposite and put a 94-99 comptech gsr header on my car and I had to extend the cat piping so it would work with the 00-01 exhaust. (I also wanted to keep the exhaust flanges)

Completely stock exaust and piping don’t know a lot about it and sizes, but I just need to know what I need to do to make the longer header fix, preferably without fabrication

First off is it a stock header or after market with 2.5" collector?
If its stock take it to a exhaust shop and have them add a section of pipe to extent the cat to the header collector done. They can either make you a test pipe usually no more than $40 or modify/add some pipe to extend the cat.
If its a aftermarket header with a 2.5'' collector you will need a test pipe made to join the header collector to the B pipe. The 2.5'' collector on most aftermarket header will not mate with the stock cat. Best solution is to buy a adjustable test pipe from ebay. most likely you can use that with no issues.

thank you for your response, that’s actually what I did I bought a 4 piece adjustable test pipe, it’s a 1320 test pipe. Only problem is I ordered a 2.25 flange because i didn’t know what size flange the dc sports had, couldn’t find anything anywhere of what size it was. I thought if it was bigger than stock they would say something in the description

Ok now my question is what’s the stock flange size for a 00-01 gsr header? And does any one know if the dc sports have a 2.25 or 2.5 flange? AHC6511 is the part number, there the sport ceramic coated ss.

[QUOTE=safedriver;51799215]If the new DC header has a CARB legal tag, it will be 2.25"
There are only 2 or 3 headers that offer 2.5" collector and they don't start with "DC".
1. JDM ITR header = 2.5"
2. Mugen = 2.5"
3. ???Spoon???
Thank you!! Kinda what I was thinking

Correct, DC header will be 2.5' I have never seen or heard of them come in 2.5''. Have a exhaust shop cut the 2.5" collector off the test pipe and weld a 2.25" collector on both sides and make sure you get a 2.25' donut for the collector. Or better to return the 1320 test pipe and try and find one that is 2.25' on both sides to mate with the header and B pipe.
