How Do I Know
HEy All,
recently installed Type R cams and had a question....
How do I know that I have the cams lined up perfectly (ie, the cam gears are TDC and that the gears are lined up correctly on the belt) Would I know if the cams were off by one tooth? the car feels right (great actualyl) but wanted to make sure I had them on right....
any feedback greatly appreciated.

your car would run like crap
also if you wanna check it run your engine to TDC and verify that the marks on your cam gears and straight with the top of the head
UP UP
_ _ _ _
the cam gears should look like that at TDC and be even with the top of the head

hope this isnt being a pain....when I match up the gears "top/Top" am I matching them with the floor 90 degrees or the engine 90 degrees (the engine being a bit slanted).
any idea?
Thank you,
YV

When the arrows point up, you should put a ruler along the other marks which will line up straight - all 4 of them, 2 on each cam gear. They don't have to be horizontal with the rest of the world, but they'll be parallel to the valve-cover-gasket surface. When that's lined up, your crank pulley should also line up at TDC.
