How to bolt in harness?
My biggest concern right now is where and what to bolt it to in the back. I would like to retain the usability of my rear seats yet possibly bolt it a 3 or 4-point harness system. A friend bought a 3 point that he can bolt the rear one into say his left rear strut tower, and then when using it for road, unsnap the harness and use his stock belt. I would like to keep the belts in at all time, but what's the best way to attach it?
I do not have a roll cage nor rear strut tower bar.

One way to bolt a harness to your car without the use of a rollbar is to get a 3-point harness and bolt the part the goes to the rear to the backseat passenger seatbelt bolt. You'll still be able to retain the rear passenger seatbelt. However, you have to unhook it if you're going to have anybody sit behind you.
I recommend getting the Schrothe Rallye 3 harness since it's the only one that I know of that is DOT approved. Check out http://www.soloracer.com. They only have red in stock right now...but hey, it might be what you wanted.

Take a look at the rules of the clubs you want to run with if you're required to use a harness. Most clubs won't accept a 3-point belt.
I know that you said that you want to keep functionality of your back seats. However, you may want to take a look at my harness bar. It goes in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Otherwise, take a look at GeeSeR's installation of a 5 point system.

I have my 5-point harnesses attached to a custom harness bar which mounts to the rear upper seatbelt attachment point. It takes about 5 minutes to install the harness bar, but it can be left in the car and the rear seats are still useable. Here is a picture:

the BEST way?

I wouldn't use a harness without some sort of rollover protection.. last I checked.. a human head wasn't strong enough.

Geeze Dave-ROR, that looks sexy as all get out.....too bad I can't afford that!
And where might I find this bar Shmeek? I really like it and think I'm gonna go this route! What's the cost?

A friend said I might want to check if this is legal for autocross. I'll just quote what he said...
Input?
cuz chassis stiffening by a rollcage is not permitted in street touring or street modified. and since it ties the b-pillars together, it could be considered a chassis stiffening device

It's a Kirk Racing cage.
I like it more than the AP bar/cage because the rear bracing goes all the way back and compresses the frame rails between the top and bottom mounting plates.

As for cost, mine setup was 595+60 shipping, email them if you just want a 4point setup though, it's much cheaper.
BSQ, how much did your setup cost you?? I was quote 369 for Schmeek's setup....that's seems a little steep for me.
I've had no complaints from competitors in STS on the bar. Most want to know where they can get one themselves. I haven't tried running with the bar at a divisional or national event so I have no idea if some shmuck there would protest the bar.
I know you found the link, but I'll post it anyway. The bar came from SpeedWare Motorsports. I was originally quoted $375 for the bar new. Fortunately, I bought it used from a friend of mine.

Leave the interior in and you'll be in (at worse) DSP. I run E-Prepared but I have my interior out (and still run 2nd place times).
