Default HID problem Help

Hello,

I have an 96 Integra and I recently bought an HID kit from SPW industries. As I installed the light bulb, I think I broke the plastic tube covering (stupid me) that covers the return wire of the HID bulb (broke the tube into 2 pieces so one piece is moving up and down the return wire) . The tube is now still on the HID but loose so everytime I turn on my HID, initially you can see the light flickering like something inside is moving. I would like to know if I can glue the plastic tube back on tight. What type of glue do I use (silicone?). I know I need something that can withstand the heat of the HID bulb.

Thx

i'm not really sure, but i think the plastic thingy you broke, serve only as a protection to the wire that runs from the top of the bulb to the bottom and does nothing else. If you see the hids flickering, then it's the bulb, which i think is pretty usual. Mine flickers sometime too, so i dont think you have to worry too much about that.

I hope i help ease your worrying, some what.

Hey thx for your reply. Yeah, the black plastic piece does serve to protect the return wire but now that one end is broken into two, the one piece is now moving up and down the wire loosely and when I turn on the HIDs, the flickering light is most noticable (flickering like someone is waving a stick infront of my lights). It is sort of annoying. I was wondering what type of glue/silicone should I use to glue the 2 pieces together in case I need to. Thx

It would almost be easier to break off the pieces totally. They're not completely necessary. Also, they're ceramic, not plastic.

Not to flame, but I dunno what kind of HID's you've been seeing. Flickering isn't usual at all. I'd try to return the kit and say it was like that when you got it. Because if it is indeed the bulb, you can't really do much other than replace it. HID bulbs are quite pricey, as you have probably figured out already.
