Help with thumping sound?
Hey, so this problem is relatively new to my car, sorry in advance for the long explanation.
I should explain that this thumping, sounds like a have a flat/horribly balance tire, and is only heard with light throttle, doesn't matter if I am turning right/left.
First it sounded like I had loose lugs on my front passenger wheel because it sounded like i had a flat tire. So i made sure all of the lugs were tight, and it still wouldn't go away.
Then it seemed to have gone away but cam back the next day, but on the drivers side. I was thinking maybe axles? But I had both axles replaced last year.
But then it makes me think motor mount because the noise/vibration only occurs under light throttle/constant speed, but I've never heard of that happening.
I'm really wondering what it could be, does any one have any suggestions what it might be? What to look for, where to look for the problem? I've been working crazy hours so I haven't had time to take a look
thanks in advance

if it is at constant speed it has nothing to do with your motor mounts...mounts absorb torque (under hard acceleration) ....could be a wheel bearing..and to the above poster....wtf is a bolt joint??
lVlemphizStylez might be right cause i had my wheel bearing changed also in the summer the sound come from the right side...but mine not you can only hear it you kinda feel it also like you driving on a striped road when its getting fix...
sorry for posting again here... but the way i find out if the sound are really the wheel bearing you should have your front wheel lift up, take off the rim and start the car also put it on first gear let go the clutch slowly then your wheel should be spinning itself and have one of your friend try to listen to the sound if its coming from the wheel or not...that how i found out when my wheel bearing are getting bad...hope it will work for you also
Yeah thanks for the info, I also didnt think it was a motor mount because it didnt make a sound under hard acceleration. I'm going to get up early tomorrow morning and take my wheel off and take a look.
Any one think it could possibly be axles? When I had them change my car wasnt lowered, then I lowered it 6 months after, possibly causing the problem by changing the suspension geometry, and maybe I just got bad axles...
