HELP!!!! Overheating
ok...here's the deal. I just replaced my water pump, timing belt, and adjusted the valves. Now my car is overheating. So, my question is...Why??? Could it be an alternator belt that is too tight, could it be improperly adjusted valves, could it be a timing belt that is too tight, or off on the crank by one tooth???
I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Someone HELP!!!

thwe radiator is an alomst new fluidyne...I was thinking it could be because of loosing a bit of radiator fluid when I took out the water pump, but it only overheats when it is not moving, but the fan does come on...i don't get it
neither...i think that i figured it out though. I haven't let the car idle with the radiator cap off yet to let any of the air that is in the system from replacing the water pump bubble out yet. I am going to try that and se if it takes care of it.

Yeah, when you re-filled the coolant after doing the waterpump did you burp the system...? If not, there's your problem...

yup.. thats the problem, i'll put money on it..
2 ways to fix this.. do what you said bout the rad cap off while car's running..
or 2nd way is on the upper rad hose that connects to the block right below the head, you'll see a nut style screw there, with a hole in the middle.. turn that about 1/2 a turn so some fluid starts commin out, it should let all the air out of ur system as the fluid is flowing through the engine

i bet i know. when u replaced the radiator fluid after u changed the water pump, etc...you didnt bleed out the air bubbles and now the air bubbles are causing radiator fluid to not circulate. go to ur car, pop the hood open, open the radiator cap, turn on the car (be careful cuz it will splash) and turn on the heater to highedt setting. then add little more fluid, then close cap and no more over heating. your welcome.
