the little gold washer on the bottom of the strut bushing is the wrong one. you nedd to use the ones from the stock shocks that go under the dust covers. they are silver and wont fit through the bushings.
your saying the gold washer pushed itself throught the bushing??? i dont think what your saying is right cause i just went and checked it and the one thats sitting normaly is the same way. that washer you see is ontop of the bushing. thanks for your help
hey. yea i live in glendale, i got it done at BBT. they gave me a price estimate then they brought the price up, after they fix this for me im never goin there again.. thanks
I had the same thing happen after my shock install. The washer didn't hold. Took it back to the place where I got the install and they grabbed one from another set of shocks and bolted it in. Very easy to fix...but very scary to drive!
i just dont want to wait a day. i want to drive my damn car. this is pissing me off so much everytime i do something to my car, something always has to **** up. eh.

yea i sorta cooled down and im just gonna tow it to the shop tomarow and have them fix it. thanks for your help guys
looks like they installed it wrong.. theres supposed to be a washer under where the dustboot and bushings are.. then theres suppose to be another washer above that kinda sandwiches/holds the dustboot, ID spindle, rubber bushings, etc.. in place..
BBT? as in Best Brand Tire on Brand and Los Feliz (I think?) HolY $hit.. I'm going to avoid that place like the plague now after seeing this install... hope you get it sorted out man.. I dont know if they gave you your old shocks back or if its in the Koni hardware kit (I installed my Koni's like 3 yrs ago... on 2 diff cars.. but being so long ago.. i dont remember all the details).. but it seems to me.. they left the bottom washer that goes under the 2 bushings where the dust boot is, looks like they left it out... I just did a recent install (not Koni's) for a member on this board.. and it seems to me thats what they left out...

koni yellows come with all the hardware you need to install.. you don't reuse any of the stock washers/nuts on the shock assembly itself.. gsracerboi nailed it on the head
its spose to be sumthing like this.. sorry for the bad text/graphics.. .hehe
| <--koni top rod/adjustment ****
[ ] <--koni shock rod/thread
-------- <- top washer
{ [] } <--rubber bushing and inner spindle/sleeve
-----------<-- your cars shock tower (everything else is suppose to be below)
[----[]-----] <--shock cap/ID spindle extending thru
{ [] } <--rubber bushing/ID sleeve
-------- <----bottom washer (this is what I think they forgot to put in)
* this is just the top part... dust boot, shock rod, spring, perch, C clip, etc.. lower portion .. left out
$hit it all lined up when i made the post... dunno how the spacing shifted.. but you should be able to get an idea of what im saying..

98teg: yeah ..thats why i knew the exact place/location u were talkin about haha..
anyway make sure you protect the top of the shock/rod well because you dont want to break the top adjustment protrusion tab like Patrick94GSR did.. I think his was damaged thru shipping.. I forget.. but w/ your rod extending way outward like that.. you risk damaging it.. but then again.. since the shop focked up on the install.. if it is damaged they should replace it for free...

I hate it when a shop install something for u, and being lazy or ignorant forgets to put in all the parts that came with the hardware. It's like "missing a little piece, it's okie, he/she can't see it anyways, it will hold just fine without it".. I mean WTF. Some shops think they don't need instruction even if you give them the sheet and ask them to follow it. They'll just say "we'll do it, don't worry, we install shocks" and at the end they never used the instruction sheets and messed it up big time. It's like when u bring ur car into for maintainence/tuneup/body work, when u get ur car back and check things carefully, u always see a few missing bolts and screws in hard- to- get- in places here and there. Then what happens? u 'll have to find all the missing bolts/screw location, either bitch at them to put them back on, or do it all urself. Shops suck man.
