i just installed a 4-1 header and it sounds like its leaking at high rpm.
is this becuase i took the old gasket out and cleaned it, is there i certain way it is supposed to go?
or shoudl i just buy a new one ?

installing a header will give you that hissing/leaking sort of sound afterwards. if you torqued down your bolts correctly and your header gasket was in good condition then maybe it's just the new sound of the header that's causing you to think there's a leak?

 

ya the gasket was in good shape and i torqued them down good, thanks man

 

replace the gasket, it's like $15.
