Default Help for a beginner

Ok, so I have a '96 Integra (automatic nonvtech) and I know some stuff about it but I'm not sure what all i should put in or on it. I'm working on getting an intake and some leds for the interior. Possibly enter a show or something. If anyone has anything else that they would like to contribute to new project hit me up.

Why's that? Automatics can be just as fast, if not faster than manuals. Looks like you don't know much about cars, or transmission in generals.

Do you what you want with the car, what exactly are you wanting to do with it? Have it look good? Ride good? Be fast?

don't talk about trannies in general, w are talking about an integra auto and no it will never be as fast as a manual, even with level ten's help. this is because a manual will always be able to accelerate faster and hold more power.

honda autos can't take much mroe than 200 whp before they start stalling out and eventually fail so unless he plans on doing a manual swap the engine is limited

LOL!!! JDM dude is right.... you can make auto cars fast also. Also keep in mind its not VTECH, it is VTEC.

If you are planning on entering shows, then you should get some body work, like Body kit, spoiler, and some nice rims. For Engine, I would just get the engine bay all chromed out and just put a INTAKE and catback EXHAUST.

I don't have all to much to spend beings I'm in college and have a very limited income. But i do want it to look nice, have a nice ride, and be a little quicker. Like I don't want to go all out on looks because I'm not all that big a fan of body kits I think I might just get it lowered. I have also been told by some of my friends here that i should get the intake and an exhaust so those are probably the first two things that will get done.

If you want to boost it in the future, an intake and header will be useless. Start with suspension mods. ITR rear sway bar.

I dont plan f/i anytiume soon. Can anyone recomend a good intake for me, also which is better, SRI or CAI? i am looking at a sri just because i am afraid of hydrolocking and there is a lot of snow where i live. but my question with a sri, will it dump in the engine bay and suck in hot air?

also can anyone recomend a good catback or axleback that isnt ricer loud, but has a low monotone sound to it? i want it to be loud, but have a low rumble as well, no fartcannon.

I wouldn't bother putting any performance mods on an automatic but its totally up to you. If I were you I would just take all the money and save it for matienence and keep it all up to date.

yes the short ram with take in more hot air from the engine than the CAI. but, for what youre doing it doesnt really matter. CAI is usually more money. odds are you wont get hydrolock from the CAI though. there needs to be a good amount of water to do that so you should be fine. any name brand intake should be ok for you. i've had K & N and AEM on my integra and the difference is nonexistant inmy eyes

The performance differences in CAI and SRI's are negligible. it only take like a tablespoon i think i read to mess up the engine so to be safe go with the SRI. i think the biggest benefit of a aftermarket intake is the sound and look it gives the engine bay. i have teh weapon R dragon SRI and i like the way it looks/sounds, but all SRI's sound pretty much the same unless its something like a comptech icebox.

Password carbon fiber sri. And a buddyclub prospec exhaust. But seriously: suspension mods make way more of a difference than I/h/e.

I was looking into the Injen sri any pro or cons, and can anyone recommend some springs cus I was looking into Eibach and Teim for a reasonable drop but not a pavement pounder.
