Default HELP ASAP! Engine bogging down...

This just started on the way home. It's sort of acting like it's stalling, but mor elike it's bogging down. I can't really explain it. At low RPM (below 2500) it's real jumpy and rough, almost sounds like 2 cylibders aren't firing. It's violent. When I (finally) gt to about 3000-3500, it comes to life somewhat, but still seems rough. It really doesn't smooth out until I get above 4500. Problem is in neutral as well as all gears. It hasn't stalled out yet.
I was thinking maybe bad gas? Doesn't water settle to the bottom of the tank? I have less than 1/8th tank.
Possible bad filter?
Injectors?
I don't know what else it could be. Plugs are less than 5000 and just checked about 2000 ago. Fresh Mobil synthetic 5w30. Clean K&N.
If anyone can help before I haul it into the shop at $50 an hour, please!!!
Thanx!

Have you ever had your plug wires changed? If not, change them and see how it runs. I don't know exactly what they cost but at 81K it wouldn't hurt to change them anyway. Start there, I think that it would be cheaper than bringing it in.

Check your O2 sensor. the primary one. It may be bad.

If you not throwing any check engine lights...it's probably your timing...HTH

I guess I should have posted a follow up. I went down to Wally-World and got some of that Syntec fuel system cleaner and then went to Exxon and filled up on premium. Next I too the back road home and worked slowly up and down the tach. Byt the time I got home, it seemed better. I let it idle for about 10 minutes, then I reset the computer just for good measure.
Of course, it may be messin with my head, and it'll start again tomorrow when it's too late to go to the shop.
But if it keeps it up, I'll have him check the timing first off, then the o2 sensor. My plug wires look fine. I've always been told if they look, fine, they are fine.
One more possibility. About 6 years ago, my old Mazda pickup had a similar problem that ended up being the cat. It was all ****ed up. How many miles should a stock GS-R cat last? I need to update my tag. It's now at 90k, and yes, it's getting a new timing belt and h2o pump in 2 weeks...
Thanx!
