k im installing the new shiftboot. I took out the old one. Now in order to mount the new one in you have to install it under the plastic center consoling. How do u get that piece off ?? im in the middle of it and no digi camera with me ...

Alright, I think I know what you're talking about, but I still need to know the year of the car.
If you are referring to the plastic piece around the shift boot, I think you have to remove the entire middle console. This might make it easier anyways.
I know on my '93 I have to remove around 3 screws on the side, one in the front under the e-brake handle, and one or two under the ash tray. There might have been more, but I'm not exactly sure.
Hope that helps... or that somebody else knows a little more...

Yea, but then again when you first receive a new part you get excited and start installing. A lot of times it doesn't seem that hard, until you get about halfway done.
I agree though, a manual would help a lot because it has the step by step instructions...
