shift boot install
The shift boot installs on the bottom of the console, and you'll need to remove the armrest and ashtray/lighter assemblies before you can remove the shifter console. Fortunately, anyone with the necessary skills to operate a screwdriver can safely remove them.
Is it really necessary to remove all that? I thought you just take off your shift **** and pull out your old one and replace it with you new one. And then just adjust the clips on the front and then the back.
nope, center colsole needs to come out, four screws (one in each corner) will take out the whole bracket/boot assembly. take the boot off the bracket (very easy and self explanitory) and fit the new one on.
