hi i have a 94 integra gsr now.. im burning quite a bit of oil.. about a litre every 1500 km depending how much i push it...

i shoot lots of black smoke as i accelerate but as i let off and my rpms are dropping i shoot out a **** load of blue and back ... im guessing blow by:S or something// but yea anywayzz a very reputable shop in my area told me to try using shell rotella diesel oil... i have and it hasnt really helped... anyone have a similar problem and a certain oil? wiht like lucas or somethign really help??

im no car whiz or w.e but any help woulb be very much appreciated...

and also form facts given wat looks to be the problem piston rings:S? i have and odd tick when hte car is cold...

maybe 15 40 is to thick:S?

 

Do a compression and/or leak down test and that will tell you exactly what your probelm is. If it smokes as bad as you say you do, I don't think any additive to your oil is going to help.

 

I think you have a blown headgasket.

Check your coolant, does it have oil in it? And check your oil, does it have green coolant in it?

I'm not 100% on which is which cuz I forgot...but black smoke is oil, blue is coolant, and then white is gasoline(petrol). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

white = water/coolant
blue = oil
black = fuel

if he blew his head gasket he would have tons of white smoke
