Just joined up,

I want to get some opinions. i just bought a 93 integra ls off a buddy. He told me he tossed the timing belt going 40mph, and he took it to a mechanic and was told to just get rid of it and the guy nver even opened up the motor. He told him the valves were bent. Should i just get another timing belt and put it on and start from there?

Any comments would rock

 

you might wanna take off the head and look to see if in fact your valves are bent, thats what usually happens when the timimg belt goes..

 

Check the valves, I know alot of people including me where it was fine though. I was going 40, car shut off. I looked, timing belt snapped. I thew another one on and bam, i'm fine.

 

You could have lucked out like this guy. Have it checked out.
