Is an exhaust manifold and headers the same thing? My friend kept saying they were different things and i said that they were the same. what?

Most people use the term "manifold" to refer to the cast iron OEM pieces, and "header" to refer to the tubular aftermarket pieces. It isn't a universal distinction though (Toda and A'PEXi, among others, refer to their headers as "manifolds").
