Default Header Question

Well I ordered a T1R header, and it was supposed to come in today. However, it still hasn't arrived and I gonna have to drive the car soon. Would it be possible to drive without a header? Would there be too much heat in the engine bay, and should i risk something flying up into the ports? I could put the stock one back on if I had to.

it would be loud as dooky and stink up your car. also it would probably heat up your engine a lot faster. i wouldn't do it for very long if i did have to drive without a header.

You can drive it w/o a header, like deadman said, its going to be loud as hell. Also, since there's no header on it, its going to cool a little bit differently, and isn't good for the valves, so if you have to drive it, dont drive it to long, and not hard.

Got the header in and on before i had to go to work, so everything turned out fine.

The reason I took it off before I even had the new one is because i *usually* get orders in then morning, early afternoon, so I was expecting this one to be the same. Oh well everything worked out, and I must say that with the T1R header/exhaust, it pulls much better now

well runnig a car without a header is a VERY bad idea. Ya its loud but is it worth warped valves? the air is alot colder than exhaust gas especialy at the head even if its 100 degrees outside the difference in air temp can lead to very bad things. Id say just wait

i understand he got it on, i just wanted to relay the info to him and the others saying that it would just be loud. I wanted to make sure they understood there was a danger of running it without a header
