i am going to be putting my comptech header on my integra and was wondering if a torque wrench or an air gun would be best to get the rusted bolts offmwithout stripping them or breaking the nut. if you have experience witht his please fill me in.

 

You should never use a torque wrench to loosen stuck bolts, but an impact gun might be helpful for the bolts at the cat. I'd also suggest soaking all of the nuts/bolts with PB Blaster before attempting to remove them.

 

^ right. you should never use a torque wrench to open bolts. its only used to torque.

i would use an impact gun only on the cat. i dont think it would be a good idea to use it where it meets the head. just use a wrench, make sure you use pb or wd-40.

 

so a socket wrench would be my best bet then? and if anyone knows, how likely is it that i will strip or break a bolt?

 

I just twisted the bolts until they broke. Then again I had new hardware to put in.
