im looking at getting a new header but just doing some research first. what is better 4-2-1? or just 4-1? i would guess 4-2-1 would be better flow right?

depends on what you have done. a 4-1 might not net you anything since you have a stock motor. if you have a built motor it will yield the most highend HP. the 4-2-1 will net you more power on a stock motor. either way, whats your reasoning for adding a header?

Cuz everyone else is doing it. What other mods and plans do you have for your car?

Its never good to add something just because everyone else is doing it...you should look at what overall goal you have for the motor and go from there.
A 421 would yield better results when dealing with low to mid range torque while a 41 would help you in the higher end.
Collector size is also important, so you should also look at that.
Supporting mods such as what exhaust you plan to use is also helpful...
Dont just get something cuz everyone else is doing it...in the end it might not help you at all. Concentrate on your power goals and take it from there.

yup, 4-1 gives you top end, 4-2-1 is for bottom end. i wouldnt run 4-2-1s unless it was on a non-vtec. I have the JDM ITR headers on my B17 and i love the top end and how they look completely stock with the heatshield.

hmm thats kind of surprising to me... anyways my current set up is 81mm low compression pistons in a b16a2 block and b18c1 head. ITR intake. as for exhuast its stock headers obviously 4-2-1 with test pipe, still have resignator to rs-r muffler.
i plan on getting higher compression pistons next and may remove resignator. and sooner or later playing with the head

These threads are hilarious.

Unless you're really into your car and will have it tuned, just waste your money on something your friends will like. Mad props son!
