Default Dunno if this has been covered before...

i have a 96 jdm itr motor with a dc sports header. this header is i think the same as the usdm version type r header. i would like to know how much power i am losing by not running the jdm type r 4-1 header? or even a jd header or soemthing? i plan to get tuned soon and would like to know what to expect from this.

no one will be able to give you a HP number of what you lost using a dc sports header compared to jdm 4-1 header. they all vary on every motor.

tuning would be your best answer for that question.

I thought the first year for ITR motors was 1996?

In the world of headers it is a give and take situation....

4-1 = good top end lose some bottom end..

4-2-1 = good bottom end, midrange and lose some top end...

for everyday street driving, the 4-2-1 should be good because acclerating from stoplight to stoplight would be pretty good..

but if you dont care if your car feels good from stoplight to stoplight and all you care about is the quarter mile then i would get the 4-1....

I had both headers on the d16 and i like the feel of the 4-2-1 very resoponsive, but with the 4-1, i really felt a difference towards the top of the powerband, at the bottom it was the same or slightly slower....

I cant give you numbers (dyno sheet) but this is just from how i think my car feels....with both headers....
