Header on a 2000 LS
i am in the market for a header for my 2000 LS, i currently have a HKS hi power exhaust. I wanna get a header, high flow cat, and run that into the HKS.. should i run the resinators? i don't want it to be crazy loud, but i do want it to be as free-flowing as possible... any suggestions?? What about wrapping the header? good or bad?
If you have the money and really want the most out of your header I would consider SMSP or RMF. A custom piece for your application will yield the best results. But if you plan on doing anything else to you motor; i.e. cams, pistons, i would wait until you get all that comleted and then get the header.
Resonator's are a good idea, they barely affect performance 1-2 whp but get rid of that raspy sound.
Wrapping the header is up to you, some do it, some don't. You could also consider getting the header coated.

I am affraid if i get a header, hi flow cat, and take off the resinators it's going to be too loud... i don't want it to be too loud, i Hate getting passed by cars with a ractive 4" exhaust thats so loud i can't hear my car over it, i am tryin to avoid that
