Hatch squeak?
i'm hearing weird noises when i go over bumps in the back of my car like lil squeaks and stuff. when the car is parked i can push it up and down all i want and it wont make noise...i dont think its the actual hatch...could it be like a suspension bushing or something? has anyone had this problem..it bugs goin over a lot of bumps...
this is common.. go get some lubricant such as WD-40 or even better yet, teflon spray! and spray it in the joints of the arms that lift the hatch. try in the piston of it too... this worked for me, I used teflon spray, it works better
i suggest you cover the hook on the top hatch with soft tape (electrical tape), most likely the hinge and the locking mechanism were hitting each other. thats what happened to mine and I fixed it

On either side of your hatch (almost in corners) there are rubber feet. These feet screw in and out to keep the door tight (just turn them). Try unscrewing a half a turn or so......

Is the car parked with the parking break applied? If so, most likely it is your parking brakes. Just pull up on your e-brake handle more. I think it squeaks because your emergency brake is not fully applied.
I hope you're right because I get the most annoying squeaks and or rattles from the rear while driver. The noises occur when I over lane cups, rippled roads, rail road tracks, going up and down steep drive ways, etc. I adjusted the rubber contacts so that they are out more. This helped with some of the noises. I also put dynamat on the hach lid. I'mma WD-40 my suspension components, hatch lifter, hatch lock, and apply electrical tape to the hatch lid hook. Hit me upwith anymore suggestions!
I had the worse hatch squeek ever and I tried everything. I moved the rubber contacts almost all the way out and it didn't do the trick. I just put electrical tape on the hatch lid hook and its all gone. Best mod ever
Does the electrical tape stay on? I am assuming that you wrapped the entire hook with electrical tape. Being that the hook is latching on to something, doesn;t that cause the tape to wear and tear on the portion of the hook?
After getting my car re-painted I have been having all kind of noise issues. My driver side door used to make this nerve racking rattle. It was because the weather strippin on the window rail fell off and the the door latch rattling with the hook. I had rattling noises coming from the trunk due to screws, bolts and rocks inside the actually hatch. I had to remove the panel and they slowly came out. Now I am trying to fix squeaking and slight rattling hatch noise. Do you ever get any kind of rattling noises in you trunk?

Everything seems to rattle in the back of my car.
I just turn up the stereo, because I can never find the exact point that makes noise. Seems like lots of people have that problem.
