Default Has anyone ever Retrofitted an ITR Lip on a pre-98 integra?

I have a 96 GS and love the ITR Lip, but am told can only fit a previous/different lip for the 94-97 front bumpers.

However, does it just require some drilling or special fitting if one wanted to try and fit the ITR lip on a pre-98? Thanks...

I dont think you can fit a 98-01 itr lip on the pre 97 bumpers. But you can get a 97 itr lip like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Yes, people have installed the '98+ ITR lip on a pre-'98 car with some modification, but the fitment obviously isn't perfect and in my opinion it really doesn't look very good. If you like the ITR style, why not just install the '97 ITR lip instead?

a guy on another site did it. here is what he had to say:

"Looking at the picture below, that is a modified 98 ITR lip and a 97 ITR lip. The areas circled in red have been shaved down just to fit the opening of the grill. Also, the black vertical plastic pieces that support the middle bar in the grill have to be cut to allow the lip to be pushed into the grill. This will allow the lip to be fitted onto the car, but at each end at the wheel it overlaps about a 1/2" too much. So it's not a perfect fit as the 98+ front end is shaped slightly different."

"Is it worth doing? I would say yes if you want a more unique look and don't mind that it won't be an exact fit.
I eventually got pissed off at the fitment issue and last year switched to a 97 lip."

Yea, I actually found that link hunting on Ebay. But the photo's make it look exactly like the 98+ Lip, although any other site that has a lip for pre-98 looks less dramatic like the one in the comparison photo Brian posted.

Is that company implying it's the 98+ look but for 97 and below fitment? That'd be ideal.

otherwise, if that's not the case, I think i'd rather suck it up and just buy a lip made for my bumper type.

Urethane>ABS Plastic right? Should I order one from that Ebayer?

Thanks guys.

That green teg looks like absolute crap. Get one made for a 94-97, OEM if you can find/afford one.

I've seen a lot of these retrofits, but IMO 94-97's look better with the 97 ITR lip.
