GSR motor bogging down...need help...?
i just recently dropped a GSR motor into my 93 civic coupe, and whenever i take off in first gear it seems to bog down for a second and then it opens up. does any one know what my problem might be?
check everything you did over again. make sure everything is where its supposed to be. do you have a vafc? If so did you change the vtec engagement? Where is your vtec at?
no, no check engine lights.
it did have a check engine light come at first, but i ran the knock sensor wire to the ecu and it went away.
when i let off the clutch and slam on the gas the car seems to hesistate for about 2 seconds and then it kicks.

sounds like the TPS. get a multimeter/voltage reader and check the voltage in DC at idle and WOT. it should be .5 at idle and 4.5 at WOT.

in case u still havent gotten an answer... be a little more specific? if you are gunning it (gas all the way down) from low RPM's and it bogs under 4k might be the ignition. check the ignition coil bc those can slowly go bad causing bogging at low rpm and it only gets worse. easy fix though.
my rpm gauge hasn't worked since the swap, so i don't know the exact numbers...i am still trying to fix that problem too. i think it's the wiring at the distributor. maybe because i have an obd 2 distributor (2000 model) , in an obd 1 car, but i am not sure if i need to change to an obd 1 distributor or change a couple of pins around at the connector or it shouldn't matter. any help on that?
as far as the coil, i still have the stock internal coil, should i convert the an external coil like msd ? if yes, how do i do that? if no, how should i check the stock coil?
also, someone said that it might not be getting enough fuel. i change fuel pump on my civic to a gsr fuel pump but i haven't changed the fuel pressure regulator, do you think that i need to?
any help from out there would be greatly appreciated!!!
i just want my car to run like it was meant to run.
