i was taking my exhaust cam out to replace my cam seal and i dropped one the the bolts down into the oil passage. it fell pretty far down? has this happend to anyone? do you think if i make something with a little magnet on the end i can get it out? if i end up having to take the head off which head gasket should i use? i want to raise the compression a little bit as long as im replacing it anyway. i was thinking the spoon piece but is there an equal but cheaper option? cometic maybe? any help would be great
Before you take the head off, pull the oil pan. It's a very good possibility that the bolt has fallen all the way down as most of the oil galleries have nothing in the way to stop it from doing so.
T.J. on this board was drunk when assembling his head one time and left all of the valve adjustment nuts loose. All but one of them rattled loose and they all wound up in the oil pan but one (which was never found so I'm assuming he didn't put it in).
