gsr with code 41

hey i have a freind who has a gsr we did the paper clip deal and it came up as a code 41 wich is o2 sensor heater so does that meen we need a new o2 or is it a thing outside the o2 sensor

Typically an O2 sensor heater malfunction will require a new O2 sensor. It wouldn't hurt to check the wire from the ECU to the O2 sensor, though, just in case it is shorted or open.
