Default got a major problem!!!!!!need help!!

yesterday, i was driving very slow and all of the sudden my wheel started to shake back and foruth only to the poing where i could only see it if my hands were off the wheel, but i was jerking very violantly! anyway, all the sudden i hear this loud BANG sound, and i was stuck there, my car could go into every gear, but i could take my foot off the clutch an it wouldnt kill it. and would also make this weird grinding noise, and when i put it into reverse i could hear the gear spinning but i didnt hear the other gears, but i think thats becuz my exhaust was too loud and there was a loud grinding noise, iat first i thoight it was my clutch, but now im thinking its more serious than that, because i remembered you can still drive a car w/o a clutch, and i couldnt drive this anywhere, i have no clue whats wrong!! please help me!!!!

i'm not sure about being able to drive a car w/out a clutch.

it sounds like two unrelated problems. you probably only need an alignment and a new slave/master cylinder for your clutch

no clutch = car does not move (on its own power, anyways).

i heard that if you stop the car and turn it off, you can then put it in first then start it and the car will go, now if this is true or not i dont know, ive never tried it. its on a 97' GS-R so i think its hydraulic trans

Check your axels. Broken axel will allow the motor to rev but it wont move the car. I dont know if it'll let you freely put the car into all gears tho... The shaking could of come from the axel jerking around at the knuckle if that is where is fell apart.

You can start any manual transmission car by poping out the clutch while the car is moving and in gear, even reverse. All you need a a little push. Works wonders when you have your system turned up while your waxing up your ride and all of a sudden the amps keep cutting out.

oh, it's quite possible. I did it about 2 years ago. It's a little wierd. Just as JG5 said, turn the car off and you can slide the shifter into first. Then, depending on the conditions, shove or push the clutch down to allow the car to "start" and the car will jerk all crazy as teh starter gets the car moving. Once the car moves forward enough, the engine will run on its own and the car will drive normally. To shift, just drive it like a motorcycle or anything with a tranny you can shift without a clutch

All you have to do is preload the shifter (pull back slightly or push forward slightly) and let off the gas. This unloads the gears and allows the gearchange to happen. Now, once it's slipped out of gear, hold the shifter at the next gate. Once the rpms go down, the shifter will slide into the gate and the tranny will jerk into gear. Then you can keep going Just keep doing this through 5th gear and you'll be fine. If you find yourself at a stoplight, turn off the car and put the car in 1st, and rinse and repeat I found out, unfortunately, that the trick to get the car in gear at a stop doesn't always work going downhill, but works 99% of the time going uphill. Just get the car to go backwards a little bit and the shifter will go into 1st easily. Anyways, I would recommend against this practice because it has a tendency to wear out synchros like crazy. I would, however, learn how to do this just incase your clutch decides to go grenade on you or whatever.
