Clutch problems need help please....
I just got a 94 ls about a week ago and it is my first 5 speed car so im learning to drive on it but yesterday i was driving home from work and it was acting funny when i started moving from a stop. Then later that day i got in my car to go to a friends house and i pushed the clutch pedal in and i felt it shaking badly, and i was hearing a noise from the engine bay like a grinding noise but only when i have the clutch pedal pressed in. Then i got on the freeway and it was ok, but when i got off the exit and stoped to pay the toll when i tried to get going again the car would not get in gear i had to start it in gear to get moving then it shifted fine. My friends both drove the car said it felt fine around the block but when we poped the hood we could smell the clutch burning, but the clutch is not slipping at all it still is fairly good, there is no leaks in the lines and no fluids on the pedal, so i think its my master cylinder my slave cylinder or maybe my throw out bearing but im not sure Please help!
Just an update i took the car out tonight and it drove fine but im still feeling that shaking in the pedal its not so bad when the pedals to the floor it really bad when its about 2 inches off the floor and about an inch pressed in.
i would say you toasted your throwout bearing by the vibration only when the clutch is disingaged. i would replace the slave cylinder as well while you have it apart. but they are a bitch to bleed. sometimes you have to use a power bleeder to get the air bubbles out of the hydrolic restrictor valve

Either throwout bearing, or a clutch disc spring or other piece of metal on the disc came loose, or bent/broken pressure plate fingers, etc. Something is keeping the clutch from disengaging properly. Just order a new clutch kit, pull the tranny, and throw it on and it should be fine.

i replaced my master and my slave and now its still very hard to get in gear. When im at a stop i cant get in any gear with the car running but when the car is off i can get in all gears smooth. When im driving and come to a stop out of gear i have to shut the car off to get it in gear again im starting to think my tranny is shot.

The problem isnt the master cylinder.. master cylinder is for your pedal brake. Its should be ur tranny bushing, or ur clutch is dead, that can be also ur gears in the tranny. ill try to find the problem

There is no grinding when i shift but its very tough to get it into gears and imposssable from a stop. Im thinking of just getting a b16 trans and an act clutch kit and putting it in over the weekend.
