Default gasket help

the other day i went to my friends shop and had the car up on the lift and noticed that my oil pan was leaking. not horrible, but id like to fix that ASAP. is there a good gasket out there that i should use? or is an OEM one just the same? also does anybody have any suggestions on upgrades while im changing the gasket? some stuff that i may need to do down the road when i add a turbo perhaps?

and another gasket question. ive heard changing the head gasket can change compression. im going to be running no more than 8psi when i get my turbo all put together. what do i want to change the compression to and how do i do it?

i still dont get how to change the compression with a gasket. by putting a new OEM one in there ... does that do it? ive been reading while posting and ive got some info on metal (or other harder material) gaskets that are thicker and work better (as far as head gaskets)
