Default Gas guage problem ... float or cluster

my gas guage is reading 3/4 tank now for the past week on my 90 teg, I drive it everyday so i know for sure its less than that. How can i tell if it my tank float or the cluster? Thanks

you will never know..lol u can change cluster if still not moving then its float..heh
take off ur chluster make sure all the wires are connected right..good luck

You can pull the fuel sending unit and move the float. Gage should move when the float is moved. If the gage doesn't move when the float is moved then the gage is bad. I have an ed6 hatch so i can't tell you how to pull the sending unit . Sorry. If you have a helms you can test the sender with an ohmmeter.
