im kinda new here so not sure i post in the right forum~ anywayz, i plan to get a set of ground control 4 my ls next week~ which shocks are the way to go with GC??? any suggestion? im thinking about gab or koni~ i did do a search b4 posting this forum but cant find much about GAB shocks~ can anyone help me?

I don't have any experience with GAB, but ground control makes a set of sleeves specifically for the koni shocks and they fit perfect I have a ton of customers that we've installed that combo on and they love it. You can still use the regular ground control on the koni, but you should really get the ones made for koni like this: http://www.diabloautosports.com/prod...roducts_id=610 The Koni yellows are excellent shocks, and are externally adjustable, made in Holland.

yeah i use to have gab shocks..i had the one for circuit use and damn it was stiff as hell but the handling was amazing...now i have koni yellow and i reckon they are pretty damn good..

 

i'm running the GAB superstrokes w/ ground controls. rides great. koni yellow's w/ ground controls also ride good. i think that the gab shocks will be hard to find because the only place that distributes in them in the U.S. is Wings Corp. and they are out of business.

 

I can't say anything about GAB but I have koni's and they're amazing. Worth the money IMO.

does GAB usually cost more than koni yellow? i just bought a set of used GAB shocks on ebay and the seller said i will need a pair of type r rear lower arms~ is that true? ill give some more feed back about GAB after i have it installed on my car~

 

gab shocks ran me about $180 a piece, brand new. yah, the distributors for GAB went out of business and so nobody can get them. unless you have a friend in japan who can hook it up.

I thought the KYB AGX shock used GAB technology and design since the GAB patent expired recently..
they are not as lon glasting but they use the same premise.
I would suggest Konis and the GC sleeves specific to Konis as well.
I have that setup on my EG and it is great for tracks and daily driving

 

sorry. gab didn't go out of business. i meant wings corp(dist. for gab) went out of business. kyb uses the same technology as gab but kyb shocks aren't short stroke as opposed to the gab shortstroke shocks.

 

I will get KYB AGX for sure if I were u. Cheap w/ great performance. GAB and Koni are pretty rough. And I heard u need rebuild pretty often on GAB's dampers. How much will the GC springs and GAB/Koni shocks cost all together anyway?

GC coilovers specific to Koni yellows ~ $320.
Install ~ $free time project
