Default Function Form vs Ground Control setup, Which goes lower?

Currently in the market for suspension for my db7 and was wondering which one goes lower? I heard good reviews on both suspension and how they ride is pretty damn good, Now I just want to know which one goes lower.

To be honest, I dont see my car ever on a track. If i did, I would've choose a better platform. Thanks for the comment though, appreciate it.

inbforpeoplehatefuntionandform

I have had both setups.

GC + Koni yellows on my DB
They were ok. I wouldnt give them an A+ like everybody swears. I had extended top hats all around too

F&F type 1's on the my civic
Great, and inexpensive. They did awesome for the first 2 1/2 years. They are now starting to get a lil bumpy. I have really liked this setup

You can not be slammed and have a good ride.

To answer your question regarding the koni/gc setup:

i just see no point in dumping your car. scraping everywhere and hitting your oil pan on random pot holes. people think its cool cause they do WIDE angle just to go down a small driveway. these cars are the reason why cops pull over hondas. its unsafe and just a dumb trend of young kids trying to be "cool"

but there is a suspension thread floating around honda-tech with A LOT of information and combos for suspension. and how to slam your car "properly". its a good read. thats where i got my information for my setup

As far as I know FF Type 1s are known to go bad, even before you put them on. Then again I've never used them so I wouldn't know, just basing that off of reviews. I'm currently running on Koni/GC and don't regret a single thing about it. I also wouldn't recommend dumping your car, I did it for a day, oh look I need a new paint job for my lip cus of a damn little speed hump. Oh the pain my car is going through when I feel my shifter popping up because I'm going over another speed hump.

OP. search for the suspension sticky. good tips on dumping your car "safe" and "proper" without busting shocks and top hats.

I like the pricing of the ff it's more in my budget as I can't afford, koni yellows to go with the gc and on top of that extended top hats. Anyone know an affordable strut to go with ground controls? I was talking to a few people and they recommended me kyb gr2's? I have no other experience with struts other than tokico blues. Also why I like the ff is because I'm used to a full coilover rather than sleeves since I'm coming from 240's lol. And thanks for the advice yall I really appreciate all the info.

Yes the FF are cheaper but you get what you pay for really. If you want to "slam" your car properly, you need to pay the price. I'm not sure if FF type 1 or FF in general offer custom rates but if they do, go for it I suppose. I'm running the Koni/GC and I didn't order extended top hats yet its riding fine still with 450f 400r spring rates

I would go for the yellow koni's with ground controls. People can hate but thats my overall opinion. You can dump your car with those

Gr-2's are just an aftermarket replacement for stock shocks, you'll blow them out if you slam them with sleeves.

I would go with KYB AGX's, you can find em for around $400 shipped maybe less. I had them with Ground control sleeves on my 200sx and with H&R Race springs on my teg. love em

i only have experience with the koni/gc combo. my spring rates are 500lbs in each corner. if you really want to slam your car get a set up that offers higher or custom spring rates.

ninja edit: this set up is on a 96 db7
