Default Fullcoilover Thread - Info/pics/ect.

Im in the market for a full coilover setup for my Integra and just wanted to ask fellow HT members what they were running and there impressions of there setup.
I would also like pics of the suspensions lowered to the max with details about the ride with the car that low. I have started an omni thread with no luck on information so Im looking at other suspensions around the price range of $500-1000. I want a stiff suspension that handles great but also can be lowered for shows ect. thank you

There are a couple of decent options in that price range, but the Omni's are indeed going to be about the best thing you can get for you money. There's plenty of information to be had if you're willing to take the time to do the research.

any coilover 'lowered to the max' is going to ride like crap at that height. If youre goal is to do that just get some cheap ebay coilovers and spank it right down.

Boh my teins and my omnis had a recommended ride height of -1-1.5" for optimal performance.

I dont have any pictures of my omnis or my teins but i definitely prefer the omnis, i love the spring preload and body height adjustment. Theyve also held up better to bad weather then the teins.

skunk2 coilovers for civic (not as stiff as ones for tegs) and kyb agxs. rides and handles beautifully.

Ground Control Coilovers with Koni Yellow (Neuspeed edition) shocks are an excellent combination if you're looking for a handling upgrade.

sorry if it's slightly off topic, but i'm with aracheon...

ground controls + koni yellows

for right in that price range you get ride height adjustability as well as rebound adjustment... and the option of custom spring rates if you so desire.

if that is slightly pricier than you want to go, a popular choice is the gc's paired with the kyb agx's

i personally run the old school skunkworks coilovers and neuspeed-spec'd koni yellows. besides wanting to upgrade to some eibach ers springs this summer, i couldn't be happier

skunkworks... that's a few years back. i remember they had a dark grey teg that hit 10's all motor...

i'd rather the name skunkworks than skunk2.. anyways..

i'm getting the neuspeed koni yellows and gc's....

I have been doing a lot with D2 recently....they are a nice setup as well.....see my sig for a thread on them.

Also, you really can't go wrong with Tein. They really are about the best bank for your buck all things considered. SS is available in your price range and you can always revalve and add different springs later....

Thanks for the information, I know there are more options and thats why I created this thread. I have done alot of reasearch including a thread created just for the omni suspension. Omni seems to be the best choice for the price , the question was I wanted to have the ablilty to lower it for show purposes when the time came.

Well, they are coilovers.....any of them will drop the car for shows and stuff. If your only other criteria is price then go with the best deal I guess....

I think D2's are the best for the price right now me personally, i have heard the same praise from d2 owners as i have from omni owners but d2 are both ride and hight adjustable and rebuildable as well if i'm not mistaken I dont know if omni is ride adjustable yet i heard the will be soon or maybe i'm late and they already are. And i dont think they are rebuildable either (i could be wrong) i havent heard about any issues with d2's with front being higher than the back problem, i think omni fixed the prob but from my reading i'm leaning towards D2.

Ground Control(OTS)/Koni Yellows/SRR LCA's

Lowered about 2". It handles corners like no other and the ride itself is nice. It's not like stock, but it's aftermarket! It's comfortable for me and thats what I wanted most out of it. Just make sure to not use the dust boots for the rear. My sleeve bent my boot and I was riding on that..horrible experience.

HAHAHAHA, that is a little out of the price range he mentioned. That comment is probably true but does not reall fit here.

D2 ave different rates for different cars....we can figure it out whatever you need....IM.

Apex WS are very nice as well.....well built, great quality....not a ton of features for the price tho...

You also have to consider valving, damping, piston size, longevity, ease of maintenance, rebuild costs, etc. Choosing a coilover can be a daunting task.
