Default Front Shaking and Engine Leaking.. Help please!

Ok, so I thought that I have been having problems with my clutch.. Because when I try to shift when driving at high speeds, I'm having problems getting it into gear.. And when I takeoff from a start, the car sorta jumps until the clutch catches and I start moving, then everything seems smooth.

Today, I had the front up on jack stands, (working on the brakes). I noticed a small amount of clean oil on the part of the motor where it meets the transmission.. Actually covering the engine code, and over on the transmission. So I wiped it off, and wanted to start to car to see if I could find out where the leak it coming from.

When I tried to start the car, it made an awful noise... like the motor was jumping out of the car, banging on the side of the chassis or something.. I cut it off, finished the brakes, then lowered it down. I started it again, and though it sounded like for a second that it was going to do it again, it ran smoothly..

What could cause this?? Broken engine mounts??? Could this also be the cause of my problems shifting at high speeds, or when pushing the engine to high RPMs?

Now for the oil leak.. It did come back after the car ran for a few minutes.. It is definitely coming from where the tranny mounts to the engine.. Any easy fix for this?

Sorry for rambling..

Did you start the engine w/ the car on jack stands? I heard this can be bad for the axles.

Don't know about the tranny problem. Might want to check your clutch fluid level and for any leaks (especially inside the car on the clutch master cylinder). Also check the mtx fluid level.

Is your oil leak coming from the top or bottom of the engine/tranny?
A common oil leak on B series engines is the cam seal (the one for the exhaust cam on the distributor side). Honda calls this the cylinder head plug. I installed a blox one and haven't had any leaking.

Only if you put the car in gear.

Usually the only issue you will see with the bad motor mounts is your alinement going off. When you put a load on your motor and it rocks back, it pulls everything else with it.

Do you have any performance parts that would mess with your shifts? (short shifter, tranny swap)
