I dont have my helm what are some common methods to fixing a cylinder misfire?

 

It could be a few things my girls 98 ls was throwing 4 codes for misfire. Gapped the spark plugs. problem fixed. Also check wirer, distributor, rotor, ignition coil,injectors and valve adjustment

 

my car is actually getting fixed for that right now... i tried the plugs, wires, and dizzy, it didnt fix it. i did a leakdown test and it showed cylinder 1 & 3 were messed up. now i have to rebuild. goodluck tho it could be something else for you.

 

check spark, fuel, and compression/leakdown tests...should point you in the right direction from there

 

I did a compression test. All the cylinders were around 180..

Checked the plugs

Checked the wires

I guess what I have left is the distributor and injectors...

 

Ok I found the problem.

The injector with the misfiring cylinder was cracked...
