First Door Dent!!
I just got my first dent last weekend coming home from the mall. It's really small but very noticable since my car is black. The bad thing is that it's on the driver's side and I see it everytime I get in my car so that pisses me off. Man some people just don't care about other people's things. My car is just 2 months old too, but oh well I guess I just have to get used to these things, and park farther away next time. The thing that makes me mad is now I have to spend money to fix it. By the way how much does it cost to repair small dents. Thanks for any help.
try the dentpro people... I think it costs less than $100 for the ding... they'll take it out.. or you can try it yourself... get some suction cups... and rub the metal from the inside to smooth it out
try finding a paintless dent removal guy. in oregon there is one called the car doctor i think. anyway, he told me about 60 bucks for a little dent. i showed him mine (which is bigger then a small dent and is on the crease of the car) and it would be 100 bucks. But thats also a discount cuz i work for a car dealer so just around thoes prices maybe?
That's pretty freakin expensive...I know that if I ever paid $100 to get a little ding fixed, everytime I looked at where the ding was I'd think to myself "Man, there are so many better things to do with $100"
But of course my car has like 50 dings since I park at the mall, at school, at clubs, and where ever all the time where people's doors just seem to fling open into the side of my car.

Welcome to the club. That's just one dent out of more to come. It could be two more or several more. If you park in a parking lot often, it will happen again.
Grrrrrr...
You think that's bad! My band had a gig at this rat hole in Arkadelphia this past St. Paddy's Day. So I get done loading the rig up onto Shawn's truck and go to pull my GSR around to load the "fragiles", and lo and behold, there are two dirty ol' boot prints on my hood where some drunk *** redneck walked all the way across the top. Oh, and several nice creases to boot (pun intended). I never get really mad, but I was reasonably cheesed. I managed to get $100 from the club owner, which paid to get the dents out, but the creases are still there. I even filed a vandalism report with the cops, but they were none too impressed with my "LA wanna be boy-racer mobile" as one cop put it.
Grrr...
So no, some people just don't care, and some people make it a point to mess with cars like Integras or other imports just cause it's not a F150 or Z28. What else can I say?

Nah, I'm just playing...in some parts of Texas cops will pull you over because they think having HID style headlight bulbs are illegal

I got three major dings in the first two months of owning my car; it really pissed me off! But when I took it to the Acura dealer, I found out they were providing free ding removal for the first three months after purchase! Even though that special started after I had bought my car, my salesmen got me in the plan and they were all removed in just a few hours... Check with your dealer, you just might luck out too!
PS. Zero dings since then, 'cause I park FAR away from other cars now...
(And yes, black cars really show every defect!)

What I hate are paint chips. I have tons of them on the front of my car. Most make it through the clear coat, some have gotten to the primer. I need to give these some attention soon.
Yeap unfortunatley our cars do have thinner sheet metal than some other cars. My friend has a 91 Toyota Mr2 turbo and man his sheetmetal is thicker than mine and very resistant to dings. I dont think ive seen any dings on his car yet. The best thing to do is not to worry about it. Let the dings addup (I know it sounds stupid) and get them taken out later. In my case they only charged me 120 dollars to take the dings out of all my car,(and trust me there were quiet a few). Sure beats paying 60-100 dollars for just one panel.
Anyone know what material Saturn Uses for their doors? And which company owns Saturn, Ford?
At least our bodies are not composite, I saw a Ferrari (I think) that had a ding in it's bumper, the whole bumper was fractured and splintered out from the ding. I'd rather have dings than fractures.
But if i were able to get a Ferrari, i don't think I'd complain.
