I finally got my car yesterday, after all of my time looking i finally bought one. I got a 99' Integra ls with 40k, in perfect condition i love it!!!!! Now all i got to do is save some money to start getting things for it. I would like to thank all of you guys who have helped me with my questions about the different cars and parts i inquired about i really do appreciate it. You guys are the reason i went with this car thanks...

The funny part is, the sales man kept telling me that the ls was a dohc vtec and i kept trying to tell him that it wasnt. ITS NOT A VTEC OR DOHC!!!!!

Enjoy, I'm sure you'll love the teg, but I really would've gone for a GSR with VTEC, there is no substitute, and the little extra price is well worth it, but even still, enjoy your car and welcome to the club.

Hey, just remember this, the car was designed GREAT from the factory.. ANd chances are really good that if you put a suspension on it, it will perform shittier then it would stock.. SO if you do upgrade, do it right. And before you go bolting on all kinds of mods, just remember how nice the car is to drive now.. Cause in a few months you will annoyed with your loud *** exhaust, it hitting on everything, or it being too low.. AHAH.. Ya know what i mean... Enjoy the stockness while it lasts. Good choice of cars... LS are torque monsters.. Cheap to build...

No, i do like modding cars. I have had 4 engines in my integra in a year in a half.. i build em, run em, sell em.. Love it.. im just saying dont mess up a good thing...

Hey, get off my nuts ***. A HUGE Majority of the people who own hondas **** up the stock suspension with shitty *** components.. It handles worse when they are done.

salesman ... I bought my car brand new at Star Acura in Glendale (its now closed and a Ford dealership I think).. anyway the salesman was trying to "show me VTEC" he's all check this out.. and he downshifts and gets on the opposite lane/side of road/wrong way to pass a car.. and a car make a right turn on the other side... we almost hit it head on and he almost killed me and my dad trying to "show me VTEC" Salesmen... he was also describing VTEC as if it was a turbo or something.. he's all "yeah it "boosts" you 30 more HP w/o the reliability issues" cuz he asked what other cars we were looking at and I said Eclipse GS-T...

youre the idiot who was talking about exhaust, not suspension. you must think that we are novices at tuning hondas. if YOU dont know what the hell youre talking about then i strongly suggest YOU STFU. "enjoy the stockness"

 

I know EXACTLY what im talking about.. And if you think that putting an exhaust on a car is TUNING your an idiot.

I was making a simple point to the guy to not go and **** up a good thing. A good thing being the stock suspension. And if he was going to change it, make sure he changes it with something a lot better then what a huge majority of people slap on their car. Do a poll here and ask the people on why they put an exhaust on their car.. i bet you that about 10% IF that say they did it because it was going to give them a power increase... In order it would be for looks, for sound, for the name. On a NA honda the power increase with an exhaust is nominal or NONE. What you loose in the mid range normally will come back up top. THATS IT. Its give and take.

To sum up, just mind your ******* business, i enjoy "TUNING" as much as the next guy. But when it comes to adding mods just for the look it sticks this whole thing back in the RICE CATEGORY....

Like i said in my post, NA hondas do not make significant gains with an exhaust. I said Nominal, to none. And if you have ever dynoed a stock car, BEING THATS WHAT HE HAS, and then put an exhaust on it. A huge majority of the time there is no power made from the bolt on exhaust.
