Default Fields sfc vtec controller

My friend has one in his 94 gsr and has been using it for about a year with no problems. Hes selling his car, and is going to sell me the controller for cheap. What is everyones experince with these. One guy told me he had 4 of the go out on him, but my friends seems to be working fine. Should I wait and save up for an apexi vafc?

all depends on your applications.. is your car in need of a "APEX" style? or just a simple DIY tuning with the fields?

Yeah, save for the VAFC unless you are staying with minor mods, they tend to stuff up after a while.

Yep, the SFC will do the job as long as it's going well.

They're a pretty handy unit, easy to operate and to install.
I know a few people who have had them stuff up, including me.
I fixed mine by cutting the wiring loom plug off and soldering the wires directly onto the circuitboard.

I dont really understand what you did. Also, why did you have to do that?
