exploding coolant?
I have this nasty problem with my car and the coolant. The car is turbo and everytime I really get on my throttle and push the sucker, the coolant overflow line from the neck of the radiator to the overflow bottle pops off and sprays coolant EVERYWHERE! Also, the temp needle seems to like the COLD side of the gauge and blows hot air on occasion. It's not the radiator cap cause i've replaced that, I'm almost positive its not the headgasket, maybe thermostat?
well if you go to an auto store they usualy sell these little round flat ring things..... oh what the hell are the called... oh yeah! HOSE CLAMPS! that should take care of your hose poping off unless of coarse the over flow tube is clogged but you already checked that even though its highly unlikely that a pressurized line might push itself loose if it had a restriction or clog right?
as far as the temp needle liking the cold side wouldnt this mean that your car is not over heating thus being a good thing espessialy being a turbo car (unless you left out some info that would help someone understand what your talking about)
oh and how do you get all the steam out of your gauge cluster after the temp needle blows hot air?
now as far as the head gasket you might want to pull the head and look just to be sure cuz the last time my car wasnt over heating or blowing white smoke out of the exaust and my gauges got all steamy i somehow got the idea to check my head gasket for no reason at all and i was right and my thermostat spring had broken off and worked its way through the coolant passages and tore a 3.6mm hole out of my head gasket
oh and be careful of your topic titles if those damn terrorist find out that coolant is explosive theres no telling what thell do!!
:edit: holy **** i just reread this and i think its time for my mom to come tuck me in cuz somebodies getting cranky

someone told me to take off the radiator cap when the car is COLD and start it.
if you can see bubbles that means your headgasket is blown and the exhaust is escaping through your cooling system.

and what if you didnt vacum fill your coolant and you have air bubbles already in your cooling system. do you ***-u-me that its a head gasket leak or do you do the appropriate tests for a hg leak?
as far as steamy gauge cluster goes, I have no idea what your talking about? My gauges aren't steamy at all. I'm going to check my thermostat tomorrow and see if thats it. The hose on the top of the radiator going to the overflow tank, I didn't think those ever had clamps on them. And it's not clogged, while not boosting coolant goes in and out of the overflow tank just fine.
