Default For expert!!

Ok I'm kidding... Maybe not for expert... But maybe it happen to you! The car is a DC2 Gsr

Listen to this cause it's been a long time since I'm trying to find from where that TiC! noise comes... It happen not always but kind of often... It happen when I lift the throttle quickly. Form example if I accelerate in fisrt gear up until 4000 and lift quickly...TiC! ) Or if I stop and then put it in reverse. Just as I feel that the car moving..... TiC! If I put it back in first to go foward, it will do the same noise...

This car is very often on a track. It come from under the car. It's not an engine mount... I really feel it like it's when the engine is moving foward or bakward that the sound happen... It will happen once per lift of the throttle, not twice... one TiC! It sounds like if you would hit a full can of "%?$%& tuna with a scewdriver... It haunting me Help!

Seriously, could it come from a universal joint? Or the diff? For now I change the the rear engine mount not so far... I thought it could be the donut and spring kit between the manifold and cat... I change it today... Still the fuc"%?%& noise...

Anyways, if someone got an idea....

Have you actually removed and inspected the rear engine mount? You can't tell the condition just by looking at it bolted on.

I had a similar problem and the mount ended up being broken badly when I went to put in my polyurethane inserts.

Ding, ding, ding.

Your pads and calipers will have some movement. Not so much the calipers but the pads will move around. It shouldn't be loud enough but it could be caused by variables. Doesn't take much to pull off a caliper and inspect pads.

Unless suspension bushings are shot this would be my first line of attack.

Last october, I blew up a Universal joint when drag racing... I changed the first part, the one that reach the wheel. But as you know, on driver side there is two shaft...Could it be the half shaft bearing, the one that hold the shaft that goes in the diff... Or simply the shaft it self!?? It seem to come from the wheel on driver side...

I really doubt about the pads cause I'm swichting pads all the time... I do a lot of lapping so trust me I'm pretty much aware about my breaks... I bleed them after each track days...

You'll see them in the center of the hub when you remove the front wheels. It is 34mm if I recall correctly. I had the same noise when the car was new and Acura fixed it by tightening those nuts.

Par 20 in the diagram:

i was getting a "click" noise whenever the car got torque. pretty much whenever i was in gear and would slam the gas and let off, or from reverse into forward pretty quick. the noise was my axles. i replaced them and the click went away..

I'm guessing about the half shaft... Could it have been damage buy a hard lauching on the drag strip? Usually it's the outer shaft on driver side that break... ? I remember that the car had jumps pretty hard at the start when I blew the univ joint... I'm gonna check a couple thing this weekend... check break pad again, gonna torques both cv shaft nut...

Big thank to everyone and if someone got other Q, I'll be glad to read you! Someday, I'll find it and gonna beat it!!!!!

Yeah I'm with lude27, I think it's your axles. I had a similar problem and fixed it by replacing an axle. They're probably just worn out, and have some play in them, so you hear the metal on metal...

Ok, I'm just doing a follow up on my weird sound

I have check the break pads...it's not the probleme.

I'm changing the half shaft (axle between the tranny and the first axle that reach the hub) next monday. I will also check the engine mount again even if I alwredy change those 10000km/7000miles ago and had put energy polyurethan inserts in them.

Than..... If it'still make the TiC! noise I'll change the passenger axle...

Otherwise it will have to be the tranny!
