you will have to use a high flow cat and test pipe is much louder than the cat and bad for the environment and illegal! why are you putting this exhaust on your car, do you have a turbo?

Wow, 3 inch piping is huge. I've never heard anyone recommend anything over 2.5 inch piping for a street driven 4 cyl. Bigger isn't always better, I think it's the exhaust velocity that matters more than the mass quantity going through the pipe bc that's what will determine your powerband. None the less, unless you can get away with having an extremely loud and polluting exhaust system with no cat present, i'd go for a high flow cat. save the trees

Pat...You can use whatever you like. Simple questions, Why would you have 3" exhaust and then throw a tiny cat back into the pipes? Pick up a Hi-flow in 3" or keep the test pipe. What kind of setup are you running (engine)?

Please don't regurgitate your useless knowledge. Next your going to tell me that your Honda is a serious polluter because you don't have an EGR or air pumps? A good tune is more important than a cat picking up the slack. Want to get environmental...Go take a look and see what it takes to actually make a cat and the precious metals involved. A bit more destructive than a bit of unburned hydrocarbons.

Never thought about it that way. I'm sure it's very true though.

Wow that makes a lot of sense but he gets pulled over by the police and they look under his car and he doesn't have a cat, he will get a huge ticket, plus not besides the fact he won't pass emissions which means sooner or later he will have to change it out for a cat.

Your ignorance precedes you.

Do you remember the 1970s? My-oh-my how wonderful uncatalyzed exhaust smelled. A good tune will not do a thing for NOx, HC, or CO emissions. Name a single Integra that has an EGR or smog (not air) pump. You need to research the environmental aspects of modern catalytic converter manufacture. Ceramic and platinum are not pollutants.

Take your own advice:

What a load of crap.

Running a car catless for years is more than a bit of unburned hydrocarbons.

Not to bright are ya? I didn't say it doesn't make hydrocarbons or that you shouldn't use a cat. Also, a stock car can be tuned to a nearly perfect burn with no cat. With modded cars, I don't think the environment is much of a concern..lol.
